Feeling good during Christmas..

Christmas time for us is not just about gifts, food and partying.

Christmas time for our students means feeling good by making others feel good too! That is what we did on Friday 17th December when we visited the old people's home at Apap Institute in our home town of St. Venera. During our visit, we sang christmas carols and also presented the residents with special christmas crafts done at school with the help of our PSD teachers. One of our students - Jacob - said: 'When I grow old, me too would like to come to stay at this home!' An unforgettable day for our students and for all the residents inside Apap Institute too.

There we saw what an Agape Table really looks like, some frescos (wall paintings) and we even saw some of the oldest cemetries in our country. After that, we walked to the beautiful Howard Gardens in Rabat where we stopped for a short break.

Strawberry picking

During Healthy week our class visited the Frott Artna fields in Mgarr. There we got lessons about growing crops. We learned about watermelons, beans, tomatoes, grapes and strawberries. We also had the chance to taste some of the fresh fruit. Before we left, we also visited a nearby farm. Some of us, were also lucky enough to hold some chickens or ducks in their hands. Unforgettable!

MINI-SURVEYS in our class reveal our tastes!

A few days we ago, we talked about tally charts in our Maths lesson. We learned that tally charts is all about reading information. Together we decided to do some mini-surveys in our class.

We were divided into four groups and each group was free to choose any topic!

Crayton, Janine, Aidan & Julia asked their friends about their favourite cartoon character. Results placed 'Tom & Jerry' first, with 'Bolt' coming second.

Therese, Sean, Kylie & Matthias looked for our favourite pets and concluded that the guinea pig is our most favourite. Next came the rabbit and the kitten!

According to Shania, Jake & Gabriel our favourite subject at school is Maths. Next came English Language.

Finally all children (together with some relatives and friends) participated in an online poll about our favourite season. Unsurprisingly, Summer got most votes! Results of this poll can be seen on the left hand side of this blog.

Well done kids! You can say you have done your first ever survey!
