This blog is being temporarily stopped because of the migration process into the new ilearn system.
The information on here will remain available. Photos of old classes will also remain here and any ex-students wishing to view any particular old photos can leave their messages here.
It is being planned that eventually this blog will be re-launched, under a new format, and kept as online notice-board of activities done in our class. In the mean time, information about specific lessons in our class and other notes will be made available in the newly set-up ilearn page.

An open letter to my students....
Dear Students,
Another year has just come to a close. And what a year it has been. Most of you said to me that this year went by so fast, and that is a good sign.
How can I forget all the things we did together this year? All those lessons we had! Our first outing, when we went to visit the Catacombs in Rabat. How can I forget all those of you who were Students of the Month or those of you who came runners-up? How can I forget the effort you all put in when we had to perform during the Christmas Concert play? I remember you coming to school dressed in your fancy carnival costumes. That was fun. I remember when we decided to cook rice salad in our class and when we went on a fieldwork in Buskett. I remember Merit Day. I won’t even forget how hot it was when we had our Sports Day. What I will definitely never forget is the smile on your faces whenever you stepped into my class, the jokes we shared and the lessons we had together. Thank you all for making it such a special year!
This summer I will take some time off. I will not be doing any summer-school as I need to take care of baby Noah and prepare for the coming scholastic year during which you will notice some changes!

Il-gazzetta tal-Year4 Yellow
Din il-gazzetta hija kollha produzzjoni tat-tfal. Il-ħsieb warajha kien li nitgħallmu naqraw il-kitbiet ta’ xulxin waqt li nipprattikaw ftit il-kitba b’mod kreattiv. Għan ieħor kien li din il-gazzetta tinżamm bħala tifkira żgħira tas-sena li għaddejna flimkien. Grazzi lit-tfal kollha u lill-ġenituri tal-għajnuna u minn qalbna nawguraw lil kulħadd sajf mill-aqwa.

Guided Reading in our class..
'The right book at the right pair of hands' One of the main targets this year was to promote guided reading in our class. This has been a big success and a weekly slot gives our students the chance to read one book per week that is best to their ability. All books were selected from the wide range of Big Cats reading scheme. Class was divided into four groups and every group read a different book every week. This was also made possible largely thanks to the help and support by Ms. Diane - our complimentary teacher in our school.
What do you, students, think of these lessons? Did you enjoy reading these books? Did you find them attractive? Tell us why! You can leave your comments underneath this post.

Fieldwork in Buskett
On Friday 24th March our class took part in a special fieldwork activity in Buskett. Once we got there, we listened to the sounds of nature, observed tiny insects, searched for leaves and different kinds of trees, listed living and non-living objects and lots lots more.
Rice Salad in Class
On Wednesday 22nd March, rice salad was served in our class. Teachers and LSA's served as waiters and all students had a wide variety of healthy food to choose from.
In our class we promote healthy food, always. And we recommend everybody reading this to do the same and eat healthily.

Carnival 2012
Carnival at school was a memorable day. First we had a special morning assembly where teachers came out in costume. Then we did masks decorating in class. This was followed with a great class-party thanks to food everyone chose to bring. After the break watched a nice movie and at 1pm we had entertainment from local singer Gianni. More entertainment was waiting for us inside the school hall where we had magics and lots lots more.
P.S: Ah, and we had some beautiful costumes in class too. See pics above and below :)

Visiting the Catacombs
Today we visited St. Agatha's Catacombs in Rabat. After stopping for a short break at the lovely Howard Gardens, we finished our first outing of the year with a walking tour of Mdina. Thankfully, weather remained fine and we enjoyed seeing at first hand what we had read about in some of our previous Religion lessons. Our first outing of the year, and definitely not the last!

Dear Parents...
Welcome to Year 4. This will be a positive year for your child as we will be building on past successes and learn new things. Whenever home and school work together, your child’s chances of improvement in social skills and academically will be strengthened. Briefly, here is some useful information about our class.
School starts at 8:30am. Students must be punctual and proceed to line-up with the rest of the class for the morning assembly.
Very soon, I will forward to you a detailed time-table with specific slots dedicated to music, P.E and other lessons that require certain equipment or clothing. Please be sure your child has everything in order on such days.
Each day, your child will bring his/her home folder that contains homework and other notes. It is important that you check this everyday and make sure that tasks at home are done every day. Please support and talk with your child about the importance of completing this homework. Homework tasks, usually, do not take up more than 45-50 minutes.
After the first day at school your child will be bringing you a sheet that explains copybooks that we use in our class. Check that out too and make sure that everything is in order.
I look forward to work closely with you all and to have a successful school-year.

MERIT DAY - New books donated to our class
Merit Day took place in our school on Tuesday 17th May, 2011. All the parents present watched a short programme which consisted in 3 main items. First item included choir singing using recorder and percussions. Second item saw our students perform a short song. This was followed with the distribution of certificates; one for every student.
One School One Dream, Environment Clean
One School, One Dream, Environment Clean - that's the mottow adopted by our class. This slogan was created by Jake Degabriele and the poster was created by all the students during crafts.
