Fieldwork in Qawra

Thanks to our science teacher, an interesting walk around the promenade of Qawra and Bugibba saw us explore someting new. Situated at various points around the whole promenade lie all the planets in our solar system. Along our walk we stopped by at every point and put down notes.

After having break, we went round the beach in Bugibba and started looking for species that you can find near the sea. On our way back to our starting point, we put down names of other species that live on land.

Welcome to our school..

This clip was shown for the first time on November 21st, 2007. As part of our morning Assembly, we decided it would be fun to produce something about the school where we spend so much time at. All photos were taken by us, the students, a week before the special assembly took place. For some us, it was the first we had handled a digital camera.

Special thanks goes to Ms Frances, ICT teacher who guided us throughout.

Traffic Awareness Day....

One of our first activities at school this year was what we called 'Traffic Awareness Day'. Police officers came to our school to talk to us about the importance taking good care while in the street. Following those talks we went down the yard and went in some of the police vehicles on show. A small track was built and everybody could pretend he/she is walking in the street. All street laws, including zebra crossings, had to be observed. In the end, we attended to police dogs' show.

Fieldwork @ Buskett...

March 21st: On a bright and sunny but a rather chilly first day of Spring, we left our school on our way to Buskett Gardens. We arrived at around 9:45 a.m. After a short walk we stopped for a short break. Soon after we set off on our tasks; collecting small materials and listing various things around us such as sounds, living things, non-living things, soft and hard materials, leaves, insects etc etc

On our arrival back to school we discussed our day and at home we had to complete some leaf-rubbing which we had brought with us from Buskett.

A perfect day to start the new season indeed...!

Carnival. . . .

After the end of our Half-Yearly exams, it was time to relax and enjoy a bit ourselves today at school as we celebrated the start of Carnival festivities! After gathering inside our class for a brief discussion on the tradition of the Maltese Carnival, we had our quick lunches, and soon we were out in the yard. Each and every class had its' own parade infront of the rest of the school while our head of school entertained us with some lovely tricks and games! In the end we spent the last 15 minutes dancing to the Carnival tune and to other music!

Our class boasted some wonderful costumes amongst which one could find indians, cowboys, witches, space girls, little signiorinas, wrestlers, power rangers, clowns, a harry potter and also soldiers (including roman soldiers).... It was soooooo much fun! :)

Handball Festival

On Wednesday 17th January, our class took part in a National HANDBALL Festival @ the indoor gym of the University Sports complex. Different skills were practiced throughout the first sessions. This was followed by an interesting talk about the Olympics where all our curiosities were satisfied! Following this talk, we particpated in two friendly Handball matches; against Attard Primary we ran out 3-1 winners. In our second match we overcame Msida Primary 2-0!!

Looking forward to our next P.E. session where we hope we will be strengthening our newly acquired skills in this interesting game!

Christmas Party 2006

On Friday 22nd December, we organized a school based Christmas Party. We danced to music and played lots of games in the morning. After a short break we all had something to drink & nibble. Soon after, we went down to our school hall as our head of school is an excellent MAGICIAN and we all enjoyed his show! One of our classmates was also called on stage to assist him in his tricks! We wished each other a very happy christmas and soon it was time to go back home. We will back on Monday 8th January. In the mean time Happy Holidays to everyone :) x x x - Yr 4 Orange

Teachers vs Students - No COMMENTS pls :)

As it is our Xmas tradition at our school, on Concert Day, a football match between teachers and the school team takes place in our yard. The match was quite a contest, with students giving their all, in their quest to topple their teachers, at least for the day! For the record, teachers won the match 5 goals to 3! The rest of the school watched from the sidelines, and support was almost equally divided, although teachers did receive that extra encouragement from those watching! At the end, of the match all players shook hands, but till this very day, talk is still going on as to who deserved to win or not! Unfortunately for the students, it seems they will have to wait yet another year, for them to be able to say "We have managed to beat our teachers."

CHRISTMAS Concert

Tuesday 19th December: our class took part in our annual Xmas concert in front of our schoolmates. First we sang a song called "If we all give a little'. Our second item included a dance to the music of the song "Do they know it's Christmas Time?" Everyone enjoyed it and almost everyone congratulated us for our excellent performance on stage! In this photos we can be seen straight after our performance together with our class teacher, student teacher and facilitator.
